Monday night, following the angst caused by the competition at day one of the Westminster Dog Show, with a winner named, what a great relief to head home for the night -- even if that home is temporary.

That's where the Hotel Pennsylvania comes in.

New York City's Westminster Dog Show owners, handlers and dogs' hotel-of-choice, this canine-friendly accommodation goes above and beyond for its four-legged stars.

So, while the best in show may or may not be there (see details here of who took first pl

World’s Best Hotels: TripAdvisor’s  2011 Travelers Choice Awards

When TripAdvisor came out with its highly-publicized list of the world’s dirtiest hotels, many thought it was a shameless grab by the review giant for publicity.

But others, including MSNBC, reported that the traveling public appreciated the list and used it in planning their travels.

Now TripAdvisor gives us their Travelers Choice The World’s Best Hotels.

About 676 hotels and inns were chosen based on what TripAdvisor calls “millions

TripAdvisor Names The World’s Dirtiest Hotels

It made the news at CNN a few hours ago.

Then Time NewsFeed picked up and amplified the story: TripAdvisor has just come out with its list of the top dirtiest hotels in the world.

And some of them are pretty bad.

Take the Aqua Gumbet Hotel in Turkey or rather in this case don’t take it.

This Aegean Sea hotel had 121 “terrible” reviews and is considered by TripAdvisor to be the worst in Europe. Probably because the po

Japan's Art Museum Turned Hotel

Some hotels and resorts throughout the world make a big deal out of their collections of painting and sculpture. But leave it to the Japanese to go all the way and actually build a hotel around an art museum. The wee island of Naoshima, in Japan's Inland Sea off the Honshu coast between Osaka and Hiroshima, has gotten quite the elegant little rep in recent years for its modern art museums, of all things, thanks to a local textbook publisher called Benesse. That includes the Chichu Art Museum, th

The bedbugs keep biting, and the reputations and pocketbooks of hotels and inns are getting infected.

Those who know anything about this ancient corner of southwest England love its craggy, traditional flavor -- with twee villages like Boscastle, medieval castles and ruins like Tintagel, and ubiquitous pasties (turnovers). Oh, and let's not forget The Pirates of Penzance, Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca, Cornish game hens and clotted cream. But eco-friendly designer hotels? Over in Watergate Bay, just up the hill from Jamie Oliver's high-energy, seven-year-old Fifteen Cornwall in Watergate Bay, nea
