"Bob Ward's comment in this group "Why is Poland ignored when talking about European Golf Courses?" -- inspired this new blog post:Ignore Golf in Poland? Big Mistake. on my blog Changing Your Grip. He supplied me with great photos and information and…"
"I love all the links and photos! One of the problems for me that I can see is not being able to read the websites of the courses! I'd definitely need your help in translating and appreciate your descriptions. That's what I'm looking for. Have a…"
"Hi Bob,
Basically what I'd need is some information from you and just your reply gave me some nice facts. I'd need your website or some kind of link to include. I will do the writing for the post. Just the fact that you've been in golf management…"
I would love to put together a post on the courses you and Bob Ward have talked about. What I'd need is your email address, and high-resolution photos (I always credit photos).
I see in your comments that you lack good PR and…"
Your question caught my eye!
Last year, I was asked to write a guest blog post for Sharing Travel Experiences that featured about 11 of the world's most inspiring golf courses. I found them through posting a query on HARO and got about 60…"
"Hi Ed! It's almost time for me to leave for NYC for the Canal NY media lunch on Thursday. Just wanted to check to see if you're still going to be able to make it. I'm looking forward to seeing you!
You didn't get an official "welcome" that i sent…"
"Hi David,
Back again.
Did you want my own website URL? Or Canal NY's? This is me (currently -- I'm in the "website overhaul" process).
Canal New York - I'm a board member and on the Tourism Marketing committee, which is planning the media event…"
"Just wrote you a witty, literate and detailed response and then lost it all trying to reread for typos (and funky auto-corrections from my phone). Will have to reply when I'm back at my computer. Smiling through technological frustrations, Marci"
"I agree, Shirley. I spent 3 days aboard MidLakes Navigation's canal hire boat and it was heaven. I was with fellow member Andy Hayes -- there are great cruises and self-piloted boating opportunities. But you can also hike, bike, kayak, camp, drive…"
I looked at your site and the topics & magazines you've written for -- would you be interested in coming to a Travel media event in NYC on the contemporary NYS Erie Canal corridor? Did you know that 35 minutes from the Erie Canal south…"
"There are several small ships that cruise along the canals, some of them then coming down the Hudson River. These are great fall foliage cruises. For descriptions see www.smallshipcruises.com
You are indeed friendly and helpful. Even if I now have trouble getting that song outta my head I haven't had to sing since elementary school: I got a mule, her name is Sal...
Anyway, good news about what the eastern end has to offer and also the need for coverage. What is your web site URL? I won't be in NYC till later in July, so unfortunately will have to pass on the event this year. But I'll make sure our partner Ed Wetschler tries to get it on his radar.
Thanks for the reply, and I look forward to more back and forth about this great area so we can put together a trip that will make everybody happy!
Hi Marcy!! Let me add my slightly belated personal welcome to the site. I'd love to get your input regarding an Erie Canal trip. I was the winner at the August 2010 NYC media event and have touched base with the Greg Marshall at Visit Rochester about doing the trip in Sept. but haven't yet followed up in detail, partly because I don't really have a good idea of what the segments are like and how it would work. Can you advise? I think we'd probably want to concentrate if possible on the eastern half of the the canal. Hopefully you'll be in the area around that time, maybe we can meet!
Thanks for your note! I'm afraid I'll be back on Nantucket by the 23rd, but please do keep me posted. E-mail is best: sandy@sandymacdonald.com. Again, thanks!
