L2F-Jun-15-pic-Europe-food-vegetarian-restaurants-dining-shutterstock_267766202.jpg?width=1000

With its roots in the hippy/crunchy counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s, not all that long ago, much vegetarian dining was for hardcore veggies only, the type who really dig stuff like wheatgrass shots – as I recall from visiting one such spot back in the 1980s on Greenwich Avenue in New York City’s Greenwich Village.

But especially in recent years, the rise of vegetarianism, health consciousness, and the foodie movement have led to more mainstreaming of meatless dining and eateries that not on

While there may not be 70-foot point break waves like in the movies, Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast still sports some of the top surf spots in the hemisphere.

The thick, Hawaiian-style wave builds in deep water and breaks over a shallow reef right in front of the funky Caribbean beach town. For advanced surfers only, Surfline notes: “Salsa Brava loosely translated means ‘angry sauce’, and if tha

To start, visitors must immerse themselves in this city full

Giant Panda Habitat

9009056687?profile=originalFor years, scientists have argued about whether the panda is more closely related to the bear or the raccoon. 9009058092?profile=originalNo one really knows how Nicuesa Beach in Costa Rica got its unusual name.

One thing is for certain, the picturesque little cove in the Pacific gulf of Golfo Dulce in southern Costa Rica takes its name auspiciously from the Spanish conquistador and explorer, Diego de Nicuesa (1464 – 1511). His name further lives on in Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge, a beautiful ecotourism and nature lodge located on Nicuesa beach.

Fewer foodstuffs in the world today seem to have more fans than xocolātl, the cacao-based infusion the Spanish conquistadors found quaffed by the elites of Aztec, Mayan, and other Mesoamerica societies they conquered. Back then, it was not necessarily always sweetened but also confected in varieties included fermented and chili-pepper-spiced.

But of course once chocolate made its way back to the aristocrats of Spain, then and onward to the rest of Europe and the world, it was transformed into
