On the wild Atlantic coast about an hour across the island from capital Roseau, this 14-square-mle. swath is the Caribbean´s only officially recognized indigenous territory, home to around 3,000 people, spread across eight villages (the Kalinago are…
"An important article to keep up with an increasingly important industry, especially in the U.S., where train service is deteriorating and/or shrinking. Thank you!"

Beyond the two main towns towns of Roseau and Portsmouth, several villages punch above their weight. Soufriere and Scotts Head (just under an hour south of Roseau) sit inside a partly submerged volcanic caldera and anchor a marine reserve that's…

""Eloping" - how oddly anachronistic sounding, no? And yet it seems to be on the rise - and especially in connection with travel to cool places - among folks who don´t want the muss or fuss of planning any wedding, let alone a destination one. So the…"

Hey Ed! Thanks for the welcome! One of the advantages of a small (24') boat, is the flexibility. It's currently on the Bellingham/Puget Sound side of the state, but will be relocating for a couple of months to Lake Chelan so we can access our cabin through the summer. Escorting travel writers is the favorite past time of the Rahm-dezvous....so if you're in the area, look me up!
Hope you're having a great great trip. BTW, I'm traveling to Zion and Bryce camping for memorial day. May be doing a brief spa jaunt. Stay tuned...Jessica
Hi Ed- Sorry not to have replied sooner - my website is janetmayo.com or janetmayo.co.uk - that should be accessible. I'm not sure I can open e-mails from it at the moment so best to contact me on JANET@esp4u.freeserve.co.uk if you have any comments. Cheers, Janet

Ed, I personally am a fiddler and am going to attend several fiddle camps this summer (New York City and also Upstate New York at Ashokan.org, a Western Swing Week and a Southern Music Week). I love music in New Orleans, and I go to jazz clubs and classical music concerts. I have several degrees in music, and also play the piano and the saxophone and flute in a community band in my neighborhood of Tribeca, the Tribattery Pops. I used to be a public school music teacher in New York. You asked about my music interests, which are eclectic. How about you?
