  • Hi David, Ed, Jose,
I think there should be a mechanism to send a message to a fellow member without becoming friends. (Your current rule is: "You and x must be friends before you can send messages. X will have to confirm your friendship.") I have had some people ignore my message, presumably because they did not want to add a friend just for a one-time conversation. Or, perhaps others wanted to message me but did not want to request friendship. Thanks, Buzzy
  • Hello David,

I've just joined Tripatini and find we are fellow residents in South Florida. I joined the Miami/Miami Beach Group, but would like to help out as (modesty aside) an expert. How does one go about that? I'm already a moderator on Travelpod (http://www.travelpod.com/members/mmbcross) and have done quite a few reviews for Trip Advisor (http://www.tripadvisor.com/members/mmbcross).

    Cheers

  • Thanks for your quick comments to my membership request! I LOVE the Hudson Valley, too. The state of New York is really quite amazing - and has such variety. Very neat to meet you here and I'm pretty excited about learning more about this site. Nice interview via the BBC.

  • Hope to go to Italy in the spring with my parents for two weeks. Working on saving for the trip. In January my parents will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. They have been to Sicily but would like to go to the region near Florence on this trip. I hope to join them.
  • Thanks David. The idea for Political Tours came mainly from my time in Kosovo where i felt there was a huge gap between the reality on the ground and people's perception of it abroad. I lived in The Balkans for over a decade, but recently moved back to the UK. Elizabeth Gowing is a friend. You should also see Todd Wassel's "Todd's Wanderings". Am off to the World Travel Market in London to spread the word about the company next week.
