OK, I admit it: at times I can be a bit of a facetious wisenheimer. I believe in not taking things too seriously - as much of a challenge as it´s become in an increasingly unfunny world. When it comes to travel humor, one quote that sticks in my mind (and this is more droll than laugh-out-lound funny) is from the 20th-century French actor and playwright Sacha Guitry - and by the way, decades later it´s more relevant than ever in the age of Istagra, etc.: "En somme, je m’aperçois que voyager sert surtout à embêter les autres une fois qu’on est revenu (ultimately, I realize that travel is mainly useful for annoying others once you´ve come back).”
