9296580669?profile=originalAs I prepare for my inevitable Never-Ending Tour and the inescapable expatriation that that will likely involve, I find myself standing at the crossroads (again) and taking inventory of my life and environs—particularly the USA—to see what's left to do here and what's here worth keeping.  And even though I've been to some 150-odd (as you know, some very odd!) countries, there are still some gaping gaps in my knowledge of people and places that I've often been very close to, but never actually ex

For people contemplating an Africa safaris, the first place that comes to mind may well be Kenya. But many aficionados favor Tanzania, thanks to its vast Serengeti plains and a nearby volcanic caldera called Ngorongoro.

On my trip to this East African country not long ago, Ngorongoro was far and away the star. Occupying just 102 square miles (264 sq. km), this 2½-million-year-old collapsed volcano is a virtual microcosm of this region of the continent, home to som

Discovering the One, the Only Taj Majal

The Taj. If  it is the only thing you see in India, it is worth the trip.

When I was about 10 years old I promised myself I would see the Taj Mahal someday. Often I have heard it called the world’s most beautiful building. It is also called the world’s greatest monument to love.

I will certainly admit that when you consider it was built in the early 1600′s, while Boston was still wooden shacks, it is an astonishing feat of architecture, engineering, construction capability and artistry. It has a c

Ginebra1.jpg?width=640

por Cristóbal Ramírez

  • Le Jardin Anglais. Su terraza con vistas al puerto hace que estemos en la gloria. Sus mayores atracciones son la fuente de bronce y el gran reloj de flores, con más de 6.300 plantas (el más grande

9008799468?profile=originalIn 2013 it's hardly news that that dining options in big luxury hotels have for the most part evolved way beyond the good-quality-but-bland fare of yore, with high-profile marquis restaurants showcasing some of the world’s top chefs. But in my experience, few offer a culinary experience so cozy, intimate, and downright romantic as downtown Miami’s Trapiche Room. The fine-dining star of the four eating/drinking venues at the 274-unit, Four-Diamond JW Marriott Hotel on downtown’s premier business

The Day of the Dead can be traced back to pre-Colombian indigenous cultures; the Aztecs spent an entire month each year performing formal rituals in honour of their ancestors. I met a woman and her husband in the airport recently, while we were waiting to board our flight out of Costa Rica. They were tanned and relaxed, and had been enjoying the country's beaches and rainforest … all for free! They had won a work contest to sell the most furniture for their company and earned the free incentive trip. This was actually the couple's second year in a row to win – last year they went on a cruise to Mexico.

This is pretty ingenious – sell a lot of products for your company,
