You sure don´t think of beaches when it comes to Lithuania, but its 61 miles (98 kilometers) of coastline is home to 32 of them, and Palanga, just over three hours from Vilnius, is the best known, stretching 11 mi. (18 km) and part of the beach-resort town of the same name. There are lots of amenities, and the town itself is packed with things to do and places to eat and stay. It can get crowded on summer weekends, though!
