I was prepared to be impressed. The innkeeper, E. Scot Fuller, is a chef, so the breakfast part I was quite sure would be outstanding. The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast, located at 140 Chadwick Street in Portland, has it all, and I sensed it the moment I walked into the lovely foyer. To my immediate right was the guest dining room, done in cheery shades of blues and yellow and to my left was a large guest living room, complete with fireplace, plenty of books, movies, DVD's, games and puzzles. The foyer opened straight ahead to the stairway, which took me to my room, the Abbot. My private bath was not huge, but certainly large enough for me! Plush white towels and two plush white robes were nice thoughts.

The Innkeeper can be found in the kitchen, assisted by Laura McDowell, Scot's right hand. She is a whirlwind of activity and is one of those behind-the-scenes people who just don't get the credit they deserve. Laura--you rock!

Guest amenities include a guest refrigerator in the guest living room stocked with water and sparkling water. All of the guest TV's have a built-in DVD player and cable, and free WIFI is available.

I loved this B&B.  The event I attended in the evening (it's a secret!) was exquisite, fun and educational.  If you want to learn their secrets, go friend them on Facebook and sign up at their website because they will announce all special (and I do mean special) events there.  These events, along with the beautiful Chadwick home, will be making a statement to the foodie world in Portland, and that's the only hint I'm giving.

Scott and Laura and doing a great job with this B&B and their plans for the future and I wish them all the best!
