Saturday, August 4, 2018 / The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink in Sag Harbor

9009287661?profile=original

The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink is an annual two-part event benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The morning Paddle Board Race is a multi-skill level, WPA sanctioned points race that attracts hundreds of paddlers and spectators. Created in 2012 by BCRF Board Member Maria Baum, her husband Larry and Lisa and Richard Perry, the very first event took place at the Perry's own Hampton's residence.

For details & tickets: http://hamptonspaddleforpink.org/about.asp

This unique event has become one of the hottest signature soirées and a staple on the Hamptons summer circuit. Sag Harbor resident and mother of four, Maria Baum is an investor/entrepreneur who created Tutto Il Giorno and Dopo La Spiaggia restaurants as well as Splash Mixers following a long career as a derivatives trader on Wall Street. Maria was introduced to paddle boarding shortly after being diagnosed withparty%20for%20pink%202018.jpg breast cancer and found it provided a positive outlet during her treatment and subsequent recovery. Inspired by her own passion for the sport, Maria was moved to use paddle boarding as a way to raise critical funds for lifesaving breast cancer research.

2017's event nearly $1.8 million, selling out at both the paddle race and the party. Notable attendees included Ryan Seacret, Jimmy Buffet, DJ Questlove, Gabrielle Reece and Laird Hamilton.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) is dedicated to being the end of breast cancer by advancing the world's most promising research. Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, BCRF-funded investigators have been deeply involved in every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. This year, BCRF has awarded $59.5 million to support the work of more than 275 scientists at leading medical and academic institutions across 15 countries, making BCRF the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide. BCRF is the highest rated breast cancer organization in the U.S.—the only one with an "A+" from CharityWatch and Charity Navigator’s highest rating of four stars.
