Ruwanwelisaya Stupa in UNESCO World Heritage Anuradhapura

Some 3½ hours north of Colombo, the modern city of Anuradhapura is home to the remnants of the ancient Sinhalese kingdom of Anuradhapura, founded in 437 BCE and a Buddhist spiritual center. This restored stupa is said to contain the world's largest collection of relics of the Buddha.
