Arresting history at Cork City Gaol

A 20-minute stroll outside downtown, this once notorious 19th- and early-20th-century prison is now a museum where you can check out the various cells (now occupied by effigies of prominent prisoners accompanied by their stories and see exhibits relating to daily life including punishments and  sometimes dubious methods of "rehabilitation."
