This island is most celebrated for its incredible beaches, but those interested in history and heritage tourism will not come up short, as there are a number of historical plantation houses and other structures dating back to British colonial rule. The oldest, built in 1787 for sugar planter Will Blake, is located outside Anguilla's main town The Valley and while it's a private residence, tours can be arranged, and there's also a museum annex.
