This 11th-century Hindu temple in the central Bali town of Tampaksiring is a huge complex comprising ten rock-cut shrines dedicated to King Anak Wungsu of the Udayana dynasty and his favorite queens. Set in a scenic forest and terraced rice fields, Gunung Kawi exhibits influences of both Hindu and Buddhist culture.
It's one of 6 of Bali's Most Popular Attractions from Tripatini contributor Heena Adwani.
