For the 'aves': the art and sport of falconry in Spain

Tom Meaker  by Inka Piegsa-Quischotte  Feet firmly planted on the ground, left elbow out, forearm straight, hand and wrist covered with a thick leather glove, I looked apprehensively at the master falconer standing by my side. • Hi everybody, I've got a query for you birders. This bird (see attached photos) has my wife and I stumped. From the rear, it looks like a California Towhee. From the front, a female house finch. It's about 3/2 the size of an adult towhee and acts like one. I'm guessing a juvenile towhee. Anybody see anything different?
    Thanks.
