Hello Karin,
Thank you so much. Local knowledge is worth gold. We ate there last year at a place that had opened that day! Can't offhand remember the name but it was something to do with a newspaper - .... Giornale? - and was between the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's. I need to dig thru my files to fin the name.

Ed.. regarding fish restaurants in Venice. I live in Mestre which is across the bridge on the main land. I have lived here for 20 yrs. The only places that I will eat in Venice are below. I highly recommend them. I like Corte Sconta but only for lunch. I haven't been there in awhile though..

For a great place for pizza in Naples, try Da Michele. It offers just two types, the plane tomato and the margherita. Can't go wrong. Go ahead and get in the queue.:))

Guidebooks often call Ristorante Corte Sconta the best fish restaurant in Venice. My brother, who travels more than most travel writers and cooks better than most chefs, is just back from a vacation in the Mediterranean. He says "best in Venice" is beside the point; he insists it's the best fish restaurant on earth. Your thoughts?
