The newer dates from the early 20th century, an educational centre in the West Bengal countryside called Santiniketan, "based on ancient Indian traditions and a vision of the unity of humanity transcending religious and cultural boundaries". The other is a trio of 12th- and 13th-century Hoysala Hindu temples in the southern state of Karnataka.
