This trio of islands each offer something a little different. St. Thomas is the busy cruise port, resorts, and shopping mecca. St. Croix has more history and fewer resorts. And St. John is mostly national park, along with a mix of fancy upscale and budget camping resorts. A little something for everyone!

In St Croix, history, horticulture & hospitality reside at The Buccaneer Resort

The Manor House, which is still in use today, was built in 1653 by the Knights of Malta. The sugar mill, constructed in 1733, now serves as a venue for weddings. Former slave quarters dating back 250 years provide lodging. It’s not often a visit to a destination hotel includes a history tour spanning several centuries. But history permeates the grounds of The Buccaneer on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Just a ten minute drive from island capital Christiansted, it was opened by Douglas…

  • Udall Point...this little rocky outcropping at the extreme eastern end of St. Croix is where the sun's rays first hit the United States each day. There's even a large, new-ageish monument to this effect there. We start today's brand-new report at The World on Wheels there before heading off for drinks and posing with the Captain and then hitting the warm waters of the Caribbean...Far Flung Points, Posers, and All the Beaches Inbetween.

  • I'm breaking most of my travel rules by booking a budget trip to the Caribbean with our brand new reports on St. Croix at The World on Wheels. Will it work and what will we find? Will it be a Dream Vacation or a Nightmare?

  • This deal just came across my desk, and it looks pretty good:
The Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa, an all-inclusive resort on St. Thomas, is offering up to 50% off on bookings this fall.
The winter deals aren't quite that good but they're even more remarkable: some 30% discounts during Christmas break (one caveat: they're assuming you can find a flight that week, which isn't necessarily easy).
After January 2, the Wyndham's offering a Winter Sale & Early Booking Bonus with 30% off all-inclusive rates for stays up to five nights and a 30 percent discount plus one free night for stays of six nights or more. http://www.sugarbaywyndham.com/

  • Hello everyone! There has not been much discussion here yet. So I thought I would introduce myself and my affiliation to the USVI. Our agency has just become the agency of record for PR for Bolongo Bay Beach Resort on St. Thomas. I just returned from a site visit, wish I could have stayed longer to explore more. There's always next time right? Looking forward to getting to know all of you.
