Meeting all the bloggers at the show and making so many connections made the time at the show worthwhile. Although my post did not win, it was fun to do it. Since it was a duplicate, I wanted to stop having it compete with post here and deleted it here and left it on my website http://www.freelancetourist.com/family-feud-studio-audience.

I will add unique post to this site in the future. Having never gone to a Travel Show before this was very exciting and busy gathering information and listening

FAA Creates New Regs Limiting Flying Time For Pilots

Even Transportation Secretary, Ray LaHood, admitted that it took the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) longer than it should have.

But now the 15 months spent crafting a plan to lessen pilots’ flying hours, thus reducing the dangers of pilot fatigue, are about to become a reality.

The rules, which were announced a couple of days ago, will make it mandatory for pilots to have 9 hours of rest between work days, instead of the cur

Travel has been on my mind lately, and even more so after seeing an advanced screening of Eat Pray Love last night. It was over 2 hours of travel porn ;) The scenery was amazing and it made me want to pack my bags and leave on a jet plane.

Since travel has been a big part of my life for the past few years I figured why not start a Best Of Series of things to do and places to see in a few exciting countries. Pack your bags and get ready to head to…Peru. A 9 day trip to Peru is the perfect foray into

Wine Tasting, Ojai, California-Style

I love visiting emerging wine regions with small lot, family-owned wineries that just don’t seem to get the press they deserve. So it came to be that my friend Ginger and I left fast paced So Cal and headed north two hours to Ojai. What’s that? You didn’t think Ojai had a wine region of its own? Yes it does, thank you very much. Read on as I introduce you to an incredibly unique 2-day wine tasting trip—Ojai Style.

First stop was the by-reservation only Noble Oaks Vineyard & Winery. Located in a p

How to Avoid Airline Baggage Fees

by Ed Wetschler

Ryanair started charging for checked luggage before American Airlines, but blame American for having made nickel-and-diming safe for other U.S.-based carriers. Today all the major U.S. carriers – Delta, Continental, United, U.S. Airlines – charge $25* for the first checked bag on domestic flights and $35 for the second (checking in online only saves a couple of dollars). And for the final insult, on August 1st Spirit Airlines initiated fees for carry-on luggage.

Please watch the 1 min, sound-rich Travel Video PostCard at the end of this post

Salamanca sits at the edge of a greening plane, dominated by a skyline of domed cathedrals and dun-colored walls, embracing the town in a timeless medieval clinch.

The Spaniards call Salamanca “the soul of the Spanish nation," because it's the birthplace of Castilian, the Spanish language.

Walk Salamanca's streets. It’s the only way to experience the layers of Roman, Visigothic, Islamic cultures tha

I have just posted sixty ways to have fun with your kids in corn, around corn, and with corn. We know mini breaks make a world of difference and I know that pint-sized fun is better than no fun at all whether it’s a daytrip or a weekend escape, enjoying time together and making family memories matters.

For me it is a good excuse to behave like a kid again if only for a few hours. I love our family custom of selecting the perfect pumpkin (pumpkins because we always adopt extras).

A Suitcase Tale Set in Jamaica

It’s the end of the line.

She’s left me.

And to top that she’s locked me in her bedroom closet.

I love her, as much as someone like me can, and I’m used to it so – don’t think I’m hurt. It’s just that I’m bored and,
I suppose, angry that she hasn’t traveled lately and that means I haven’t gone
along and because of that I’ve not had any adventures at all.

You would think she would be more sensitive to my feelings and at least take me out for a walk. I do a lot for her, you know. For instance, I carry
