Where is Mt. Everest Located

Many people know that Everest is the highest mountain in the world, but not all know where Mt. Everest is located. This world’s tallest peak is in between Nepal and China, and people climb from both directions, but the summit is in Nepal.

People climb Everest in the spring, although some people try to climb it in the autumn too. Climbing any high mountain or Everest is not always easy and is even more difficult in the other seasons except for spring. There are many tents fixed at the base camp from March to May at the Everest Base Camp.

Hundreds of adventure trekkers visit Everest Base Camp on the Nepalese side every day during the high trekking seasons, like in autumn and spring. There are not any lodges or restaurants at the base camp, so you must hike from Goraks Shep and back again to sleep, which takes around an hour and a half to 2 hours one way from Goraks Shep to reach Everest Base Camp.

You reach the foot of Mt. Everest on the eighth day during the Everest Base Camp Trek. You also reach here while doing a high pass trek, helicopter return tour, and Cho La Pass route. You can also fly over this famous place during the helicopter tour from Kathmandu.

The Everest Base Camp is on the Khumbu Glacier and very close to the Khumbu Icefall. You will see a big stone with the sign of the base camp and ice below once you reach there. The base camp is not the best place to see all the high mountains, although you can see numerous pristine mountains like Nuptse, Lola, Khumbutse, Changatse, Lingtren, and Pumori with the summit of Everest from the base camp.

For the best view of all the Himalayas, you must climb Kala Patthar from Gorak Shep, which is the best hill station in Everest that offers the nearest view of the world’s highest peak and many others in 360°.

Of course! Kala Patthar is the closest viewpoint, but you can see this roof of the world from many other hill stations. Gokyo Ri is the best place to see the bigger shape of Everest, which is located in the Gokyo Valley. The Gokyo Lakes trek and the Renjo La Pass trek take you to this hill station. You will also see a magnificent view from Renjo La top and the 5th Gokyo Lake in the Everest Region.

If you do not have enough time for a long trek but would like to see Mount Everest while traveling to Nepal, you can go for the Everest View trek up to Tengboche Hill. You can see amazing views from Tengboche and Hotel Everest View.
