The most famous waterfall of Iceland's beautiful waterfalls, situated between Selfoss waterfall and Skogafoss on the River Seljalandsfoss, is 60 meters tall and looks beautiful as it falls from the cliffs. Considered one of Europe's most picturesque falls, perhaps the best part about Seljalandsfoss is that you can walk behind it and see the water falling down like a mirror. You can observe the falls and the beautiful surrounging landscapes from all directions, and of course walk down the track behind it - a truly mind-blowing site to watch the river fall from the cliffs.
From Keflavik International Airport, it's a drive of a bit over two hours toward the south coast. The waterfall is just at the off Ring Road; take a left towards Seljalandsmuli along the Thórsmörk ridge (popular for hiking) on Road 249 and drive for one kilometer. Many Icelandic tour operators include Seljalandsfoss in their itineraries.
