Ghorepani Poon Hill is a Family-Friendly Trek, so you can take a Family with kids without hesitation. It is also a perfect destination for the elderly (60 and older). The trekking trail goes steep somewhere, but you can manage it easily by strolling and taking plenty of rest along the way. The Trek does not go to a very high elevation, so you do not need to worry about altitude sickness. The Trekking distance per day is also not too long on Poon Hill. You do not need to walk until the evening.

Expectation From Ghorepani Poon Hill

Poon Hill (3210m) is a vantage viewpoint from where you can see an unblocking sunrise and stunning panoramic views of Gurja Himal, Dhaulagiri I, II, and III, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Braha Shikhar, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Fishtail, and other high snow-capped mountains. So, you can expect panoramic mountain views, green vegetation, blooming flowers, an unblocked sunrise, and other cultural attractions from this Trek.

It takes about an hour of slow hiking to reach this vantage viewpoint from Ghorepani, so you need to use a head torch when hiking from your guesthouse early in the morning. It will be a cold morning before sunrise, so wear warm equipment. A down jacket is mandatory at the end of October, November, December, January, and February, but it is not mandatory if you are at other times.

People sell hot drinks at Poon Hill, so if you feel freezing, you can buy hot beverages up there to keep you warm. There is also a Poon Hill view tower, but you can see mind-blowing views from the ground.
