U.S. cities throw some of the world´s best parties to ring out the old and ring in the new. In fact, there are so many options that it would take many thousands of words to cover So here´s my quick take on five great ones - a mix of the usual suspects and at least a couple that perhaps may not have occurred to you. Let the countdown begin!
Chicago
The Windy City delivers a dramatic winter New Year’s Eve with world-class dining, architecture, and a dazzling downtown celebration.

Honolulu
Honolulu delivers the rare combination of perfect weather, beach fireworks, and a relaxed-yet-celebratory atmosphere — a true escape from winter. Aloha 2026!

The Big Apple is of course the world´s most iconic New Year’s Eve destination. While Times Square is the headline (and a once-in-a-lifetime experience), the city offers far more variety than the ball drop. That ball drop is of course the biggest deal of all - accompanied by live performances and blizzards of confetti - but you´ll need to be willing to get there and stand waiting in the cold hours early.
