Dubai is a city of lights, as well as a city of spectacle, and larger than life. So naturally you can expect to be able to ring in the New Year in spectacular fashion, and here are my top five suggestions:
Take in the Fireworks at Jumeirah
(Top) To see the fireworks, you will have to go to Jumeirah Beach Residence. The show starts at 8:30 pm and lasts for 30 minutes. The best way to get there is by taxi or your own car. You can also take public transportation there as well, but it's not recommended because of traffic jams during these times. If you're looking for more information about this event and what else might happen in Dubai over New Year's Eve (or any other holiday), check out our article on How Do You Celebrate Holidays In Dubai?
Or Watch them over the Burj Khalifa
The spectacular 20-minute mmidnight display around the world's tallest building (830 meters/2,723 feet and 160 stories) is a highlight of the year in Dubai, and the best places to watch them include the Burj Khalifa Fountain, the Souk Al Bahar, the Dubai Opera House, Burj Plaza, and Kite and Black Palace beaches,
A cruise in a refitted traditional dhow is a must on your visit, and you can find a number of luxurious options at Dubai Marina which will afford breathtaking views of the skyline with the fireworks exploding over it. Dinner is included, as is live entertainment and dancing. But the real show will be over that skyline - truly and unforgettable experience!
Go on a Desert Safari, Complete with Belly Dancing
New Year's Eve under the desert stars is another unforgettable experience - and one that will make you feel like you’re in a movie. During the day, partake of camel rides, falconry, dune bashing, ATV riding, and sandboarding. Then at night under an open-air tent you'll enjoy a lavish buffet and bar while you watch belly dancing, musicians, fire show, and other riveting entertainment. Magical!

Party out the Old, in the New
The clubbing scene in Dubai is one of the world's hottest, with high production values and renowned local and international DJs regularly spinning. So ring out the old and ring in the new at hotspots like BASE Dubai in the Design District, Cavalli Club - with over-the-top decor by eponymous Italian designer Roberto Cavalli - in Trade Centre 1., and open-air rooftop superclub Pure WHITE Dubai at the Meydan Racecourse, For something a little more low-key and sophisticated, head to one of the sleek rooftop bars like Atelier M, the the Lounge Burj Khalifa, and the Penthouse at FIVE Palm Jumeirah .
