Namche Bazaar to Hotel Everest View Hike

Namche Bazaar to Hotel Everest View Hike

Namche Bazaar is a popular starting point for treks to Everest Base Camp and other Himalayan destinations in Nepal. It serves as an acclimatization spot due to its relatively lower altitude compared to higher altitudes on the trek. Before attempting a high-altitude trek, it's essential to engage in altitude practice hikes to adapt your body to the reduced oxygen levels at higher elevations and reduce the risk of altitude-related illnesses like AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).

Here's a suggested altitude practice hike from Namche Bazaar:

Destination: Everest View Hotel (also known as Everest View Point)

Altitude: The Everest View Hotel is situated at an altitude of approximately 3,880 meters (12,726 feet).

Difficulty: Moderate. This hike involves a steady uphill climb, but it is not too strenuous.

Duration: The round-trip hike from Namche Bazaar to the Everest View Hotel and back usually takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on your pace and the time spent at the viewpoint.

Start from Namche Bazaar: Your hike begins in Namche Bazaar, where you will have already spent some time acclimatizing. Ensure you have proper trekking gear, water, snacks for the journey, and money for hot drinks in Hotel Everest View.

Altitude Considerations: Remember that the altitude gain during this hike is significant, so it's essential to be aware of altitude-related risks. Pay attention to your body, stay hydrated, and if you experience any signs of AMS (headache, dizziness, nausea, etc.), descend to a lower altitude immediately.

Always consult with experienced trekking guides and follow their advice to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during your altitude practice hike. Proper acclimatization is crucial before attempting any high-altitude trek, so consider spending a few extra days in Namche Bazaar or nearby areas before ascending further.

Hike to the Everest View Hotel During the Everest Treks

There are several trekking routes in the Everest Himalayas. You must trek to Namche Bazaar and hike to Everest View Hotel during each Everest Trek on the third day if you are starting your trek from Lukla. If you are on a trek from Jiri or Salleri, it takes about a week to reach this place.

Bigger numbers of the trekkers on this acclimatization hike from Namche Bazaar to Everest View Hotel are Everest Base Camp trekkers, but there are hundreds of trekkers on Everest. Three high Passes and Cho La Pass treks also visit this hill station.

Renjo La Pass Trail trekkers also hike the Hotel Everest View Hotel, but there are fewer trekkers compared to the other routes. Likewise, some trekkers love to trek in a quiet environment and see magnificent views. Gokyo Lakes Trek is the best for them, and they hike from Namche Bazaar to HEV before they trek to Dole.

The Everest Base Camp Helicopter tour is the fastest and easiest way to explore the Everest Himalayas in a few hours. These travelers land near the Everest View Hotel for breakfast and enjoy stunning mountain views.
