Morocco is one of the world´s great travel experiences, with its historic cities, adventure options, and excellent beaches. But if you have any doubts as to whether it´s a safe or appropriate to travel here as a family, put them aside, as there is a reason the kingdom has become a popular family in the past decade - it´s is very kid-friendly, and with the proper preparation it´s easy to visit iconic cities as well as natural allures of land and sea. There´s plenty to ignite your children imaginations, from the treasure-lined souk alleys of ancient medinas in Marrakech, Fes, Essaouira, and Rabat to the crumbling historical kasbahs of movie set fame of Ouarzazate. Beach lovers will the Atlantic coastline´s endless strands, and adventure aficionados will thrill to the the dunes of the Sahara Desert. Outdoorsy and active families with an adventurous spirit will love exploring the Atlas Mountains as well as national parks which offer wildlife encounters, water sports aplenty, and mountain hikes. And if you´re a fan of resorts, many around the country offer extrensive kids´ programs to keep them happy and give parents some time for themselves.
In addition to all that, Moroccans genuinely adore children - many try to have as many as possible, and multigenerational households as the norm. So I firmly believe bringing yours along along will make your trip even more enjoyable. Youngsters are typically treated with great kindness and patience in public. For example, shop owners and vendors frequently interact with them, offering samples of their products or just striking up a conversation. They´re warmly greeted in restaurants, with high chairs and booster seats readily available in many - and some even have kid-friendly play areas or entertainment options. It´s even possible that people on the street will approach them to show admiration, offer praise, and give them a gentle touch, which could cause discomfort for kids who are shy or reserved. Moroccan famillies typically let their kids stay up late untill they fall asleep, during which time the older family members spoil them. Even every young children play in the streets unattanded or walk alone to school because the streets are safe. (All that being said, as with traveling anywhere, parents should constantly monitor their kids, particularly in crowded places.)
Best Times to Travel
You should always take the weather into account, but especially when travelling with kids. March through May and September through November are the ideal times to go, when mild and pleasant weather makes exploring the cities and attractions easier. During the summer Morocco can get very hot (in some areas reaching 40⁰ Celsius/104⁰ Fahrenheit, and of course it´s a dry, not humid heat). But if that´s the only time you can travel, for example because of school holidays, make sure to plan your trip appropriately, pacing yourselves and bringing lightweight clothes, hats, and sunscreen.

My kiddo is all grown up now but I can totally see this. And I remember my long-ago visit to Tangiers. Would love to go back to experience more of this fascinating country!
I have been to Morocco a couple of times and love it, especially because it is both "exotic" and relatively easy to navigate (at least the areas I visited) - and I think this is part what makes it an especially great fit for families.
