I Thought I Knew My Village. I Was Wrong.

I came back looking for my childhood. I found a place I had never really noticed.

I thought I knew my village by heart: its narrow roads, the river, the trees, and the places where I grew up. But returning with my family made me realise how much I had stopped noticing.

The river looked wider than I remembered, the trees seemed taller, and the evening breeze felt cooler. Nothing had changed as much as I had. I had simply grown old enough to notice the beauty that had always been there.
