This is where you can find more of a unique boutique style shopping experience. With easy parking and great locally owned shops and restaurants, you may find that the owner is often "in the store" or better yet, "behind the bar" or "in the kitchen." In Downtown Bangor, you can find a range of ethnic eateries featuring unique Irish food, old fashioned pub grub and everything in between. Don’t miss your chance to meet Mr. & Mrs. Claus this year. As a local tradition, for several Saturdays in Downtown Bangor, Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be located on Main Street for photos with the kids, as well as a "Festival of Lights" parade on December 5th; complete with light snow and lots of hot chocolate!
The Greater Bangor, Maine region really is also a really great stop for people traveling in groups that may enjoy different experiences. Hardcore shoppers may drop the "amateurs" off at a movie theater, live theater, or a local museum. Everyone can have a great time here in Bangor!
