2 Days Poon Hill Trek

2 days of Ghorepani Poon hill trekking is a rapid trip. Travelers may drive directly to Uleri early morning and then walk to Ghorepani on the first day. After enjoying the stunning view from Poon hill tower, the trip returns to Ulleri, Tikhedhunga, or Nayapul to catch driving transportation to Pokhara. It is not recommended for first-time trekkers, families, and the elderly.

This rapid trekking tour goes from Pokhara with an early morning drive to Ulleri. After dropping from the jeep, starts walking towards Ghorepani passing Bannnthanti, and Nangethanti through the dense forest of rhododendrons, pine, oak, and more.

With the thrilling view of the Annapurna massif and great sunrise from Pon Hill in the morning, the trip returns following the same way back to Ulleri, Tikhedhunga, or Nayapul to get transportation to Pokhara on the second day.

Trekkers easily can find shelter in every place but Tadapani has limited lodges, so they need to book in advance. There are lots of guesthouses with normal twin-sharing rooms to decored attached bathroom accommodations in most of the places.

Some lodges have cozy rooms with iconic mountain views. Fire heating restaurant dining hall provides warmth and relaxation to the clients. Great hospitality and warm welcome in the lodges are the local’s duty and culture in this trekking region. The rooms have two beds with extra blankets, soft mattresses and pillows. It is recommended to go with a sleeping bag and pillowcase.

The Trekkers get hot showers in the lodge which are heated water by electricity, gas, and fire. There are attached toilets in some rooms. Sharing toilets are indoors, so people do not need to go outside the building.

The food during the Ghorepani Poon hill trek is good quality and hygienic. Basic trained cooks and family prepare the food served from a food menu. The food recipes are a mixture of local and western. Local people are controlling pollution by avoiding plastic so, trekkers may not buy bottled water during the trip. They sell safe drinking water which can be refilled in travellers' bottles.

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek Permit

The Ghorepani Poon hill trek permit, issued by Nature Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) is needed for the visitors, to entry in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). Also, Trekker’s Information Management System (TIMS) card is required for the Ghorepani Poon hill trek.

We arrange these permits things for our clients but, the individual trekkers need to take them from the NTNC office and Nepal Tourism Board office in Bhrikutimandap Kathmandu. Also, the Pokhara branch provides trekking permits.

Annapurna conservation area entry permit costs 3000 NPR and 2000 for the TIMS card for the tourists, except for the people from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries. India, Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bhutan and Bangladesh are in the SAARC. NPR 1000 for the ACAP permit and 600 for the TIMS. The above-mentioned costs are free for individual trekkers who trek without a guide and porter.

How to go to Pokhara For the Poon Hill Trip

Travelers may reach Pokhara from Kathmandu by air and ground transportation. Although an international airport has been completed. But, it has not started any flights yet.

Pokhara is a beautiful lake city that is the third big downtown of Nepal. Most of the trekkers spend one night before starting the journey to Ghorepani Poon Hill. Numerous tourist buses drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu every morning at 7:00 a.m. The total driving distance is about 200km. The bus drives through hillside roads passing beautiful traditional villages, valleys, terraces, and more natural beauties.

There are many flights from morning to evening operated by different airline companies. People who take a flight to Pokhara may rather start the trekking trip on the same day if they do not have a short holiday in Nepal. It is less than half an hour's flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Airline passengers may enjoy the view of the appealing mountain ranges of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Annapurna from the plane.

Seasonal Expect from Ghorepani Route

There is a lot of natural evidence that decorates the region. Magnificent mountain ranges and traditional things are regular attractions that you can expect during any season. But, monsoon clouds cover the high Himalayas.
