Everest Base Camp Trek in October

October is one of the best months to trek to Everest Base Camp. It remains in the autumn season, which comes right after the monsoon season. Heavy monsoon rainfall clears all haze and makes the weather bright. You can see magnificent mountain views in October in the Everest Region.

The Everest Base Camp trek begins with a short scenic flight to Lukla, which is located at a high mountain elevation. The weather in Lukla is not always stable, but October offers the best weather conditions to fly to Lukla to start the trek to Everest Base Camp.

However, you also have an overland option to start a walking journey to Everest Base Camp from Kathmandu, but the overland routes are longer compared to the air route.

The Everest Base Camp Trek is a 12-day round trip from Kathmandu to Kathmandu, but you can also complete it in 9 days, which is the Helicopter Return Trek. You follow the regular trekking itinerary up to the base camp and Kala Patthar, and then fly out on a helicopter directly to Kathmandu from Gorakshep in October.

While you trek in the Everest Region in October, the temperatures will also be tolerable, so you can easily exist and enjoy the mountain views this month. October is also the festival season in Nepal, so you can enjoy seeing festival celebrations if you travel to Nepal and Everest Base ‘Camp in October.

There will be hundreds of adventure trekkers from many different countries every day on the Base Camp trail in October, so you can share your travel experiences. But the lodges might be occupied in some places, so you need to book at least one day earlier before reaching those places.

The flight ticket to Lukla will also be fully booked earlier, so you must reserve your seat earlier for October to trek to the Everest Base Camp. You will have a private room in every camp with a food menu, so you can order food from the menu, whatever you prefer to take. It means you do not have to bring a tent to sleep in and carry food with you to trek to Everest Base Camp in October.
