London has a reputation as being one of the most expensive cities on the planet, but with a little insider know-how tracking down a great value, stylish hotel needn't be a chore. Here's my pick of the best luxury hotels in London, all of which have rooms that regularly dip below £120 per night.
Radisson Edwardian Berkshire: rooms from £90 per night
The Radisson chain may not be the most design-led of hotels in the Big Smoke, but they are all clean-lined, contemporary and centrally located. The Berkshire lies within strolling distance of Oxford Street and boasts an award-winning restaurant to boot.
Shoreditch House: rooms from £75 per night
In complete contrast to the Radisson, private members' club Shoreditch House is trendy, trendy, trendy. Located in up-and-coming Shoreditch, it's a favourite of the capital's most glamorous celebs, including Kate Moss. Its newly-opened guestrooms (for non-members too) and very reasonably priced; book in advance and get one of their 'Tiny' rooms for £75.
base2stay Kensington: rooms from £103 per night
The base2stay Kensington (pictured) is West London's worst-kept secret, promising four-star luxury at three-star prices. Sound too good to be true? Well, the management has cleverly stripped out all the frills and flounces traditionally associated with a luxury hotel, leaving independently-minded guests with complimentary wifi, flat screen televisions and fully-stocked kitchenettes to play with.
