Kalapathar is the best place to see the world's highest mountain from a close distance. Most of the Everest base camp trekkers hike this hill in the morning, but visiting this for the sunset view is the best. You can also visit this viewpoint while you are on the Everest high passes trek, Cho La pass trek, and the helicopter return trek. Everest base camp helicopter tour lands here, which is one of the best landing spots during the tour, although the helicopter lands at several different places.
