The Everest Base Camp is on the Khumbu Glacier, which is located at 5364m above sea level. It takes around 2-3 hours hiking from Gorakshep to reach there during the Everest base camp trek, Everest high passes trek, and the Everest base camp Gokyo lakes trek. If you do not have enough time to complete the regular base camp trekking itinerary or do not want to trek back the same way for a few days, you can fly out from Gorakshep after visiting the base camp. The Everest base camp helicopter tour is a luxury option to travel to the Everest base camp from Kathmandu, which takes you a couple of hours flight from Kathmandu to the Everest base camp directly.
