Actually, our colleague from Turkey does have it right, Ann. There are many Mosques or Masjids in Arabic, that non-Muslims can visit. And certainly the Blue Mosque or the Sultan Ahmed Mosque is easily one of them.
It's great you visited a Mosque. They are architectural wonders, by and large, but candidly, the Dubai Mosque, in my humble opinion, is too new (relatively speaking) to be considered "one of the most impressive in the world," at least relative to the Omayyad, say, in Damascus or the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
But i'm quibbling.
Your report brings the Muslim world a bit closer to us, and I applaud you for that!

This is the Jumeirah Mosque in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is arguably one of the most impressive mosques in the world and is definitely Dubai's architectural jewel.
Its twin minarets rise to dizzying heights either side of the vastly impressive central dome of the main building. Non-Muslims are only allowed inside on organized tours, but even from outside the mosque is beautiful. Visit at night for the best view when the structure is carefully floodlit, throwing its features into shadow.
my travel agency in czech republik but i am turk and my shop in istanbul near blue mosque .except pray time person can visit all mosque also churches but in istanbul if want visit synagogue need appointment.i know already you know this things i write for other person !!!!

You are right about Turkey. I had no problems going into any churches in either Istanbul, Cappadocia, or anywhere else. I could not have done that in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc....
