Munich´s ornate "New" City Hall

Inaugurated in 1874 to replace the Gothic Altes Rathaus (Old Town Hall, still visible nearby), the elaborate neo-Gothic Neues Rathaus occupies the north side of the Marienplatz, the focal point of Munich´s Altstadt (Old Quarter). It´s more than 98,500 square feet and has some 400 rooms.
