Along this route you will meet many types of local ethnic groups such as the Gurung, poon,magar,Bramin casts. You will experience real Nepali life from locals working in the many rice fields, porters carrying their loads to stock mountain shops and buffalo herders.This trek can be completed in 3 days or extended if you desire.The weather and therefore the views are at their best from September to December; however, this trek can be enjoyed all year round, even during the monsoon where the trails are quiet. On this trek you will enjoy stunning mountain scenery over snow capped mountain ranges and the view from the top of Poon Hill at sunrise or sunset is one of the best photographic opportunities you will find.After two days climb you reach Ghorepani. This is the main junction for trekking in the Annapurna region. From here you can choose to go on the world famous Annapurna Circuit(5416m) or visit Annapurna Base Camp(4160m). After a good night rest we wake early to summit Poon Hill to watch the sunrise over Dhaulagiri (8,167m) the ninth highest mountain in the world.You then trek through Rhododendron forests with many waterfalls with chances to see many of the native birds of Nepal including the beautiful national bird 'Danfe',which is really nice bird with green and blue colour on. You may also see musk deer, Himalayan Thar (mountain goat) and black bears. This leads you to Ghandruk(1950m), where you can learn more about the life and history of the Gurung people in the heritage museum. This caste supplies many of the soldiers for the Gorkha Army, famed for it bravery. Again the views here across the Annapurna range are fantastic.From here it is downhill to Pokhara where you can rest and recharge and savor the memories of an amazing journey into the Himalayas.
