Perched on a 70-metre rock in the southernmost town of Balzers, this fortification dating back to before the 12th century is one of five castles in the principality and one of just two which remain intact. Controlled by a succession of lords - and for a couple of centuries by the Habsburgs - for the past several decades Burg Gutenberg has been a cultural-events venue and life-and-times museum.
