Freedom Tower - Miami, Florida

Built on the downtown stretch of Biscayne Boulevard in 1925 as a newspaper headquarters, this Mediterranean Revival landmark modeled after the Giralda Tower in Seville, Spain got its current name from its use in the early 1960s as the "Cuban Ellis Island." Now owned by Miami-Dade College and used for events and exhibitions. Added to U.S. Register of Historical Places in 1979.
