A pair of sandbars in Grand Cayman's North Sound has for decades attracted large numbers of southern stingrays - first because returning fishermen would clean their catches around here and toss the waste overboard, providing an easy banquet. Then it became a popular tourist attraction, where visitors can wallow or dive with these amazing critters (that nasty barb on the end of the tail is used for self defense only and isn't a problem as long as tourists don't do something stupid).
