Slovaks love both pasta and poppyseeds (fun fact: poppies here are associated here with wealth), and on a recent trip to Bratislava I tried a dessert they call makové šúľance, which combine both. Essentially consists of big ol´noodles stirred in a mixture of melted butter, sugar, and of course poppy seeds. The result looks a bit gross, IMHO, but went down just fine (of course, I couldn´t have eaten a whole dish by myself, but fortunately I had my husband there to help out!).
