Established in 1939, this privately-owned institution in upstate New York - a four-hour drive from New York City - proivdes a comprehensive look at "America's pastime" including plenty of informational exhibits and artifacts. One exhibit traces the history of the cardboard collectables from 1878 to today.  Another showcases cards imprinted with the photo and statistics of famous players like Babe Ruth and Jackie Robinson.  A surprising twist is a section devoted to “error cards,” which had misspelled names and other mistakes.
