I like your mantra, Shelley, "Travel with a purpose." Much of my travel involves volunteer projects which give me a much deeper insight into local cultures. Many people thank me for this, but I'm sure I get more out of it than I give. I'm giving talks nowadays (with powerpoint visuals) called "Seeing the world through a volunteer's eyes." India is where I've done more different volunteering than in any other single country, and I gather you have lots of India experience also. Keep it up!
