About Mercado Global: Empowers indigenous women to overcome poverty and become agents of change in their communities. In 2004, two college students founded Mercado Global to address the debilitating poverty they witnessed on a trip to rural Latin America. Today, we are over 300 artisans in more than 30 cooperatives across Guatemala, creating products that appear in retail stores throughout North America. Our mission remains the same: to link rural indigenous artisans to international markets and break the cycle of poverty.

Our innovative model for alleviating poverty has been recognized by National Public Radio, Good Morning America, MTV, and the United Nations. The journey from a Yale dorm room to the cover of Newsweek and a rising standard of living in rural communities would not be possible without the hard work, support and creativity of our supporters.

Hamptons Paddle and Party for Pink: The Party. Bridgehampton. The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink is an annual two-part event benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). The morning Paddle Board Race, at 8:00 am in Havens Beach, Sag Harbor, is a multi-skill level, WPA sanctioned points race that attracts hundreds of paddlers and spectators. The evening Sunset Party at 6:30 pm, previously held at the residence of Lisa and Richard Perry, is hosted by BCRF Board Member Maria Baum and her husband, Larry. Star-studded evening lineup!

This unique event has become one of the hottest signature soirées on the Hamptons summer circuit. It was founded in 2012 by Maria Baum, a mother of four, the CEO of Tracy Anderson Lifestyle Brands, investor, entrepreneur, and a partner of Tutto Il Giorno restaurants. Maria was introduced to paddle boarding shortly after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She found it provided a positive outlet during her treatment and subsequent recovery. Inspired by her own passion for the sport, Maria was moved to use paddle boarding as a way to raise critical funds for lifesaving breast cancer research. In just three years, The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink event has raised over $3.5 million for BCRF.

Last year’s event was the most successful to date raising over $1.5 million, selling out at both the paddle race and the party. Notable attendees included Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Molly Sims, Martha Stewart, Donna Karan, Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan, Hilary Rhoda, Sean Avery, Nicole Miller, Carolyn Murphy, Bethenny Frankel, and Tracy Anderson.
