"Hi David: Great to hear from you again. Always happy to help any way I can. I'll be at TBEX Europe - if you're also planning to go, maybe we can get together. I plan to stay in the Costa Brave area for at least a week after the conference."
"I'm currently traveling in Mexico and have been on the Gulf coast and now in the Yucatan. Opinions seem to concur that the spill won't affect Mexico because the prevailing currents will carry it away from Mexico. I know nothing of currents; just…"
"Thanks Maralyn. And I appreciate that you are a supporter of social media. I came to the game late (at 54, without a portfolio or nary a clip), but my timing was perfect for the Internet travel explosion, so that's where I've focused to break into…"
"Thanks Maralyn: That explains why I didn't know about it. I have pretty much stayed away from anything to do with food & wine, since I don't drink, which makes it very difficult for me to participate in press trips that have any kind of focus on…"
"Hi Allan: Maralyn hit it right on the head - the editor was using twitter to communicate rather than emails. The youngsters will tell you that only fuddy-duddy old people use email - it's the new snail mail, having been replaced by texting. Same…"
"I recently pitched a story idea to the editor of a Florida newspaper using Twitter and got a front page feature out of it. Anyone who says Twitter is a waste of time just doesn't understand it well enough."
"I have been in Mexico for the past 3+ months and have visited all the sites. Tulum is spectacular for its location on the beach, but the ruins themselves pale in comparison to Palenque, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, etc. Donna is correct - you can see it in…"

I came on later in age than you. I had co-authored some books and had print experience. Even though the pay was higher per article--it took forever to get paid and I enjoy my blogs featuring what I want. I also like the online publications I work with as they provide great numbers.
I understand. I'd have to say that many of our trips are to areas without wine, and many of our writers don't drink. But, we do focus on the culture, activities, food and drink of the area. As great as I think IFWTWA is, there are other associations that may meet your needs more. In any case, I do like your comments.
The International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association is shortened to IFWTWA. We have writers in all three categories. You may want to check it out sometime at www.ifwtwa.org. We also have groups on Tripatini, etc. We are constantly selling the benefits of social media.
