A lower/cost Nevada gambling mecca: Laughlin

When many years ago I was an editor at Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, ,we used to cover with some regularity this city on the Colorado River down at Nevada´s southern tip (and around an hour and a half from Las Vegas) because of its budget-friendly lodging, dining, entertainment, casinos, and more. With a permanent population of less than 9,000, Laughlin is home to a dozen casino resorts and has become the state´s most popular gaming destination after Vegas and Reno - and as a bonus, it can boast water-based fun on its river!
