The Horse Guards is one of the best places to see the Changing of the Guard, too--much better for photos than Buckingham Palace, unless you're eight feet tall! You can really see the horses and guards very close, with far fewer other photogs around. I always recommend it to first-timers to London on www.britainonthecheap.com.
Guests at The Royal Horseguards, London can stay in a bed which is
literally fit for the Queen (www.theroyalhorseguards.com).
Just around the corner from Buckingham Palace and Horse Guards Parade
where Prince William and Prince Harry’s army regiments are based, the
five-star hotel boasts unprecedented luxury. Every room has a king-size
bed that is branded by their manufacturer, 'the most comfortable bed in
the world’ and is even used by the Queen.
