Recenty, some of my Italian images were selected to use on the set of NBC's Grimm. Below is the link to my first TV news appearance and my press release that generated the interview. Feedback welcome on my 5 seconds of fame. But I am curious to hear about your best and/or worst experience when interviewed by a news reporter.

  • Congrats on getting your pix on TV! Thought you did fine on the interview.

    • Thanks Elena!

  • Susan, when you're on TV it's important to keep your head as still as possible. This is very hard to do. The first time I was on TV, I twitched my head and my hands too much while my co-author stayed still and steady. You did a little of this, too, but not as much as I did. In addition, I can tell you that it took several more appearances on TV for me to finally get that calm news anchor mien.

    • Thanks Sam for the tips. This was not a relaxed situtation. The reporter/camera man took me into a dark, cold room and then turned on the lights. He asked me to sit in a tiny, black plastic chair. His camera was much lower to the ground than he was and I kept looking up at him rather than look at the camera. My appearance on AM NW when my Portland book was published was much more relaxed. I'm happy this news interview turned out relatively well. Congratulations on your TV appearances.
