  • I am one retired lady who is not easily scared, but I have been dismayd by the news reports. The reports show that the violence has spread to parts of Bangkok that had been peaceful. If you are already in Thailand, make the best of it. But if you are not, why would you choose to go there now?
  • Yes, well, we're all trying to make the best of a bad situation. For what it's worth, most of us who live here feel the travel advisories and international news reports are a little over the top. Yes, the situation could spiral out of control, but so could Greece, which has already had violent street protests over much less. Has anybody put out travel advisories for there?

For now, I rarely see a red shirt in my day to day life here in Bangkok. You can get to most, if not all, of the major tourist sights without ever seeing them. That said, we all want this to be over soon. Now that the annual rains have arrived, I don't think this will go on for much longer.
