  • National Geographic published great article on Swahili Coast, and cool, yet familiar photo. OMG, it's my photo of white sands of Zanzibari beach against blue Indian Ocean... a little orange thrown in for contrast. http://vagabondinglulu.blogspot.com/2010/11/photo-by-wittig-publish... Like it? I have more for your next article.

  • Tanzania or Kenya? Put in your two cents.
  • Looks like the Tanzanian government will build a highway that cuts right through the Serengeti to Lake Victoria. The park would probably lose its designation as a UNESCO World Heritage site, but this route would be cheaper for the government and good for commerce. Should they do it?

  • Rashid, I agree. I design trips for people to Tanzania. It's endless. There of course is the northern circuit, where most people go. The southern parks, though, are so huge it defies comprehension. There is the whole link to the early European explorers--I did an itinerary once for a gentleman who wanted to re-enact the entire Henning Speke and Burton explorations in the mid-1800s. I love the country.
