On the Zambezi River at Zim´s northern tip, you can get a hippo’s eye view of this 2,196km² (848-sq.-mi.) UNESCO World Heritage Site (top) by canoeing between its islands and sandbanks. Launching your vessel from the riverbanks, glide silently through golden mornings, the calls of fish eagles and grunts of hippos announcing another perfect day in "Africa’s Eden." The park is also home to antelope, buffalo, elephants, leopards, lions, painted dogs, and some 380 bird species. It´s a seven-to eight-hour drive from capital Harare, which can be shortened by flying.
